Neck fold - fungal skin infection

Sounds gross... My 5mo DS has developed a small red spot under his neck. We thought it might be a teething related rash and have been careful to try and keep the area dry and change bibs often etc.
We took him to the gp after a few days and turns out its a fungal skin infection... Like heat rash/ athletes foot/ thrush type thing. We have s cream we're using that's meant to clear it.
Anyone experienced this? If so, did you have any issues with it spreading or coming back?

Hi - yes my DS2 got this too at about the same age. I too thought it was a rash or a touch of eczema as that was what it looked like and was also fastidious about bibs/ keeping him clean and dry etc!

I got some Canesten cream prescribed by the GP for him, it cleared in a few days. A touch of it came back maybe a few weeks later. I used some more of the Canesten and had no problems since! He's 1 now.

Hope your DC's clears up soon too - it should do.

Thanks! We've been using the cream for a day and a bit and it looks like its settling down. Am glad to hear that it cleared up relatively quickly for you.
