Ds (3.2) has had an awful cold since starting nursery mid january - normal?

I have been keeping him at home to try to get rid of it. It seems to come in waves - he seems to be getting over it then BAM! high temperature/ coughing/ sick.

The nursery staff have said if he is happy to go they are happy to have him so he was going up until last thurs. He doesn't seem to be getting any better. Poor litttle chap - his face is all sore from wiping his nose constantly. And now his 7mo brother has it (and won't sleep!)

urgh.

Any advice?

It's normal. My DS2 has been at nursery for over a year and it's constant runny nose. Drives me bonkers. I am banking on his immune system being amazing in infant school.

DD started preschool at 3.8 last January. She had cold after cold after cold. V little break. Plus ear infections, chicken pox, slapped cheek, coughs etc. I was very worried. The GP was very reassuring and said it was just the exposure to so many germs so quickly. She'd been at home before then and not around other children much so hadn't had many illnesses at all. She's a term and a half into school now and rarely ill. Odd cough and cold. But it took that kick start to her immune system for her to be so resilient later.

DS is 23wo and he catches everything going as dd brings things home with her. I suspect when he starts preschool he won't have such a shock to his system.
