He's got the hideous cough, cold thing we've all had this week. He's streaming with cold, eyes streaming, nose running, can't stop coughing and consequently is up right now just looking like a soggy mess. I have some phenergan (anti-histimine) which might dry him out a bit just so he can sleep? I've called NHS Direct but they are taking emergency calls only and this is obv not an emergency but he does look a right state Sad

Actually the dr prescribed him phenergan about 2 years ago for a different problem so I'm guessing it would be ok but just wanted a second opinion if anyone has one.

Call the local pharmacy and get some advice from them - and check the date of expiry on the meds you do have as sounds like it may be too old to use safely anyway.

rememebr that opened phenergan needs to be used within one month.

oh thanks I didn't know it had to be used within one month.

we didn't have too bad a night, as it turned out. Absolutely horrific day though - caring for sick children when sick yourself is officially torture Sad
