DS 5 has had no bowel control since he was a baby and the latest treatment is Physio, after a loong appt yesterday she wants to focus on strengthening his undercarridge before focusing on his actual anus as he has no feeling at all there. Anyhow, the main exercise she said would be great for him is to try to raise and lower his Penis as high and low as he can twice a day. Get Daddy to show him and make it fun etc.

So, Dh was trying last night and this morning and has announced he cannot move it higher or lower at all! If you have got this far thank you, my main questions are. Is this actually normal for a guy to be able to do? and if it is really hard to acheive is there a way where you can just pull up your scrotum instead as I would imagine this would help as well?

DH says he can although I've not asked for a demonstration! Apparently it's only very small movements though. May get him to prove it later...

DH said he cannot do it unless partially erect. Not sure if that is usual for everyone else.

youngermother1 · 01/02/2012 21:17

think it is the same as Kegel exercises

thisisyesterday · 01/02/2012 21:19

well i've seen ds1 move his up and down. it isn't a huge amount, but it does move.

lilbitneurotic · 01/02/2012 22:30

Dh thought he could only do it when erect but turns out he can do it anytime. Hope that helps.

PaulInHolland · 02/02/2012 08:11

Bloke here.I can do it,both when erect and non-erect,although it is more obvious when erect. You can even do it to your favourite pop song!

Thank you to everyone who replied, it does look like this is something that is going to require quite a lot of practice, thanks for the link youngermother, the stopping and starting the flow of urine is very helpful to know as well. I was expecting a full on "Willy Dance" from the boys in my house so its good to know its only a small movement generally. Grin

My dh can do it very small movements but obviously more when erect (sorry tmi :) ) its the men's kegel exercises they have to do the same sort of thing we do when we are doing our pelvic floor muscles . Try getting ds to stop and start his wee that should get him to locate the muscle
