Diarrhoea in a 3 year old - what to do?

DS1 (6.3) was sick on Staurday night and been fine since.

DS2 (3.6) was sick on Sunday morning and was then fine all of the day and through last night. After having breakfast this morning he had a large bout of diarrhoea, swiftly followed by 2 more. After a break of about an hour he's just had 2 more bouts and started complaining of tummy ache.

I'm trying to get dioralyte into him but he's not taking much (probably about 75mls in an hour) - We've never had anything like this before so is there anything else that I should be doing?

keep up fluids (doesnt have to be dioralyte). If he wants food then give him carb rich foods such as bread, toast, pasta, rice, crackers, etc.

Thanks - he's managed about 150mls of dioralyte (3/4's of a sachet) and some squash along with 3/4's of a banana. The diarrhoea keeps coming Sad.

He's really feeling sorry for himself, and I feel for him too. We're not good at illness in this family!
