GP baffled, so are we, anyone here who can do better?

Monday night we noticed DD's feet were very red and itchy. She was fine otherwise so we thoght she was reacting to new socks or something and not too worried. But it carried on, though it doesn't seem to itch very often and on Wednesday night we noticed her hands were red too. We already had a gp's appointment for today but rang NHS direct, who refered us to out of hours, they thought it was hand foot and mouth without the mouth, this was over the phone.

Went to GP today and he said it definately wasn't hand foot and mouth (wrong sort of rash) but not sure what it is. He is veering towards slapped cheek without the cheek and did a bit of googling but wasn't sure.

GP said it was probably nothing to worry about, especially as she seems absolutly fine otherwise but it seems to be spreading a bit further up her wrists and ankles. We'll probably try to talk to him on the phone tomorrow but any suggestions, advice would be very welcome.
DD has just got over a nasty cold that laid her low before christmas and is still coughing a bit if that's relevant.

I wouldn't be overly worried tbh, our GP told us a rash without illness is just that, a rash. If she becomes ill or it is very very itchy or bothering her a lot then that's different obviously.

Dd1 started slapped cheek on her limbs before it spread to her face some days later. GP initially thought she had an allergy to something. I only realised it was slapped cheek when her sister caught it. Blush

I suppose they've ruled out allergy? Washing powder?

Thanks all - so it might still spread to her cheeks?
Have been trying to think what she might be alergic to - only possiblity is new bubble bath but it's a brand she's used before, just slightly different variety. Tried without it in the bath tonight.

Finally got some piriton into her today, one dose at lunchtime and one this evening - she seems better today but last night was dreadful. It hadn't been bothering her much before but she kept waking and itching hot feet. We were up for about 3 hours so I'm praying for better tonight.
