Sad -will ds's chicken pox scars ever fade or will they stay???

DS age 4 had CP in Oct. He has three very noticeable CP scars/pits on his face - in a line basically, one by his right eye. one on the bridge of his nose, and one by his left eye.

Will they fade, or is he marked for life? I know there are more important things to worry about, but he is io gorgeous - really stunning :) - that I can't help be sad that he is scarred...

I had chicken pox when I was young and do still have the scars although I certainly think they have faded over the years (now 31). Try not to feel sad, it won't make the scars go away and you may inunvertaintly give your little one huge anxieties over them if he picks up on how you are feeling.

They do fade but the deep ones don't go away. I know how you feel - I felt very sad when my little girl got a couple of bad ones on her face. But that was two years ago, and I don't care anymore! There really are much, much, much worse things that could happen to your child. I agree with milkysmum, try not to let him know that you are upset about it.

I also had chicken pox scars, one by each eye and one large one on the swide of my face. When i was a child I was quite proud of them and they've faded as I've grown older to the extent that I would have to hunt for the ones by my eyes, and the other one is lost amongst various skin blemishes and freckles. So try not to worry about your dc's scars as they will fade.

My dd is stunning too, she has many pock scars on her face, from the pox 11 months ago. I haven't counted them but definitely more than 20!

And yes it has affected her looks, but we have got used to them not a lot we can do anyway.

It can take up to 18 months for scars to fully mature so you may find your sons scars will improve, my daughters have, but are noticeable in certain light conditions.

Use sunblock when out ( even in the winter months)

Hi. Would like to ask if a sunken/piited scar caused by CP will still fade? My baby's 8months old and im worried the scar left by cp wont fade as she grow? She has 3 pitted marks on the forehead/T area And 2 near her right eye.. thank you. It just worries me, since i had a trauma when i was a k9d with regards to scars/scarring.
