My dd is 4 years old and has just had chickenpox, this last week she's been complaining of stomach pains and headaches so went to see the doctor but she couldnt find anything wrong so took a urine sample (still waiting for results) - I have just noticed that the back half of her tongue has a white coating - her breath smells but she says her mouth doesnt hurt at all. Do I phone the out of hours doctor or wait until monday? A google search throws up options such as diabetes, etc - sometimes she seems fine and has more energy than she knows what to do with then suddenly she'll say her tummy or head hurts? Does it sound like oral thrush and can this come just because she's a bit run down after the chicken pox? I'd be really grateful if anyone could offer some advice. Thank you.

Hi Coffee, My Dd aged 4 had this last week, her breath was awful and the back half of her tongue was white, she had had a sicky bug for the two days before this but suddenly spiked a temp and was covered in a measles type rash, took her to the ooh and she had a severe throat infection. The doc explained that the bad breath was the first sign for future ref!
Hope your little one is ok.
