Should I take 10MO to GP or am I being PFB?

I'm the sort of person who has to be almost dying before I'll go to the GP so I'm not really sure what to do in this case.

DD had a temperature Monday and Tuesday last week (off and on, not continuous) which we put down to teething as she was very dribbly, spotty and had nappy rash. That all cleared up but there is no sign of new teeth.

This week she has a cold. I know nothing can be prescribed for this, before you start yelling....but she is very snotty and her breathing seems a bit sort of laboured. She's a bit wheezy sometimes and I can hear the mucus sort of rattling IYKWIM. It's not all the time and she seems well in herself so I don't know if it's just a symptom of the cold or whether I should ask the GP to check there's not an underlying infection.

WWYD?

I would take her, she is still a little baby and colds can sometimes turn nasty in babies, ESP the bugs around this time of year. She is prob ok if still happy and playing, plus feeding, but no harm getting it checked out.

Take her.

I was in too minds about taking both of mine in the last few days and they're both now on antibiotics.

two minds!

Thanks for the advice. I've booked an appointment for tomorrow morning. I have a meeting so DP will have to take her. That way he can look like the over anxious parent.

Sounds like it could be bronchiolitis, which although there is nothing medically that can be done to treat it is still worth getting checked over for your own peice of mind.

Just keep an eye out for any 'sucking' in under the chest if this happens then get her checked over ASAP.

Hope she is ok
