DNiece with abscess on her lymph node in neck following Chicken pox

Long story short. Dsis, her H, and their 4 children live in Thailand where the children are constantly ill but their parents refuse conventional medicine.

7yo D niece has apparently just been diagnosed with an abscess in her neck after running a temperature for a fortnight. Is now on masses of ABs which at least should work since she never has them.

Does anybody have any experience of this? We're all very worried.

Could be septicaemia (blood poisoning), possibly as a result of infected chicken pox. The right anti-biotics, given in time, should sort it out. Very important to finish the anti-biotics treatment suffice to say. Is she in hospital on IV anti-biotics or at home? Hope she recovers soon.

Not sure but think she is in hospital. I got the information via my other sister who said that Thailand sounded very worried. I just hope they are worried enough to handle the ABs sensibly.
