2 year old with raised liver enzymes and low antibodies?

My 2yo had some blood taken as the dermatologist was concerned about his mottled skin. He suffers with severe eczema and some allergies. He can look quite ghastly ill at times - with pale skin, dark sunken eyes, but then he can look almost 'healthy' at other times. His appearance changes throughout the day.

He usually feels warm to the touch and has recently had mottled skin a lot. My dm noticed that his skin looked slightly yellow recently.

I was called this afternoon from the dr dermatologist to tell me his liver enzymes were raised and antibodies were low. Still waiting on more results (think renal function) but she's refering us to peadiatrician as he will be able to look at the results and know more about it.

So now I'm left over the weekend wondering what's going on with my little boy?!! Any ideas? I'm going to have researched every disease my Monday Hmm

Ok so I'm thinking celiac disease is the most likely cause now, so I've started to calm down a little!

I have no idea but I didn't want your post to go unanswered. Hope your DS gets better soon. All the best.

I don't know but if I were you I'd reassure myself with the fact they haven't blue lighted him in to hospital. My dad has kidney and liver problems and they don't mess around with them so in your situation I would try not to be overly worried to be honest.

Hope he's ok

Thank you, that is reassuring although this has been the most stressful weekend thinking about the many possibilities. Hopefully they'll be able to tell me more tomorrow.

Good luck at doctors today mama.

The consultant said he's not overly concerned, the liver enzymes are only slightly raised. The antibodies could signify a problem if they don't come back up, but he will need to re-test in a few weeks to get a clearer picture, then we can take it from there. He could just have had a virus which has caused the low antibodies.

I mentioned celiac as ds also has food allergies and intolerances/eczema which is said is definitely a possiblity so will also be testing for that.

Phew, I can calm down for now! I had alsorts runnign through my mind, but the fact that the levels aren't overly worrying makes be assume it can't be anything too bad.
