Large white patch on roof of mouth

Hello,

I wonder if anyone might be able to help with a large white patch I've discovered on the roof of my 10 month old sons mouth.

I had him at the docs today, and have been prescribed some oral thrush medication, but I wonder if anyone has had similar experience of a big patch of white, with no little white spots anywhere else on the tongue or sides of the mouth?

My DS was breastfed, until last week when he went on a nursing strike, and has been off his solids and irratible for the past. 10 days ish. Maybe his mouth is too sore to feed? He has never had formula, although I have. Even offering different brands to him to try. So far no joy, so he currently isn't having any milk. He's still drinking water.

It's most likely oral thrush, but any words of wisdom of some unusual presentation would be welcome!

Thanks!

Have either of you had anti-biotics recently? DS and I got it twice, both times after he had anti-biotics.

Breastfeeding Network do a good leaflet www.breastfeedingnetwork.org.uk/pdfs/BfN_Thrush_leaflet_Feb_2009.pdf
