Have posted several times but no one seems to bother.
i am all alone with 2 chidlren - 2 year old and 4 month old. husband works away. baby has silent reflux and wont sleep. she wakes antime from 3 -6 am and cant get her back to sleep.
i am exhausted. been up since 4.20am today and can hear my toddler stirring. also have to go into work today.
just feel like running away.
no one believes my baby has silent reflux but i am the one that has to wake every morning and feed it every day with her fussying constantly. i cant do this anymore.
i know it gets better but i cant do it anymore...
no one has to answer this, just makes me feel better writing it down and sending it into thin air.

Hi ekkie sorry you feel so bad.

It does get better but, like you say, that's not much consolation at the moment.

How often is your DH home? And does he help you when he's there?

Have you got any friends that might be able to watch the DCs while you catch up on some sleep? Can you put your toddler in nursery at all - to maximise your chances of "sleeping when the baby sleeps" or at least take the pressure off.

Have you told anyone in rl that you're struggling? Sometimes people just don't see it, or realise how bad it is.

When you say no-one believes you - do you mean friends? Or doctors? If it's doctors, keep going back until someone listens to you.

Sorry for not being more help ekkie I didn't want to read and run but I don't know what else to suggest:(

toddler already goes to nursery but i have to go to work to finish work i didnt finish before mat leave and take baby with me so no chance of catch.
husband helps when around. he tries to come home at least once a week and at weekends but he has been working this weekend so been on my own.
parents and in laws have helped a lit esp in early days but dont feel i can ask anymore.
it is mainly friends who just think i am being neurotic and dont understand why i stress when she fusses at her feed and only drinks 2oz at a time. i stress because i know it is going to be a bad night.
anyway feel slightly better as had a little lie down whilst baby slept and toddler played in his room.
need to get going to take toddler to nursery and go to work.
there is nothing else i can do apart from hope it gets better soon and wait for husband to change jobs.

I sorry youbare having a horrible time, you will find lots of good advice and support on the reflux support threads here www.mumsnet.com/SearchArch?mustmatch=Reflux+support&dontmatch=&nickname=&src_displ_option=s_t_d_a&fromDate=&toDate=&topicmode=All&availtops=-1

That does sound hard - hopefully your DH will get a new job soon.

I think maybe you need to ask your family for a bit more help? I'm sure they don't want to see you struggle, and tbh the worst they can do is say no.

SkiBumMum · 07/11/2011 09:17

Are they forcing you to go into work or have you decided to? Either way, it's not on! You're legally entitled to be off work with a small baby. Your employer has to deal with that unfortunately for them. Concentrate on you and your family and speak to someone like cab or acas if work not playing ball.

Re SR. It's a nightmare. Try the reflux support thread for advice as linked above. We got no where with gp (we were in a stretched London practice at the time) so on the end sat in a & e til someone helped. At that point (6 wks) DD1 hadn't put on much weight as screamed so much in feeds. We got Ranitidine and it helped instantly but not with the sickness which started about 8 wks.

Hope you get help.
