Little boy (aged 5) came out of hospital today, been diagnosed with HSP.
Any one out there have any experience with this??
How long term are we talking?
Have googled it and mind full of scary facts and figures but wondering if anyone has first hand info.
Thanks.

I'm sure someone will be along soon with some up to date medical info but just to reassure you, I had this as a child aged about 7. The illness lasted for about 2-3 months but I made a full recovery and have had no problems since. There have been a few threads on HSP on Mumsnet previously so you could search for them in the meantime? Sorry I can't be more helpful...

Ds had this a few years ago.
It took a few days to get a diagnosis for some reason - first dr thought it was insect bites Hmm second rand the childrens ward while I was in the room and insisted they admitted Ds as he was seriously concerned about his symptoms (he had a throat infection, then weird bruising and was absolutely wiped out)
At the hospital, they immediately knew what it was.
Ds was fine within a month. We had to take wee samples to the drs every week so they could make sure his kidneys were functioning properly.
He had almost two weeks off school because he was exhausted all the time.
Try not to google, as you inevitably read the worst case scenarios which are rare.
Hope he has a quick recovery :)
