Hi need some advice please,

DD1 (5yrs) has been on anti-bs for a strep throat for 3 days - throat is better but yesterday developed an ulcer on the inside of her lip, today she has about 3 really painfull ones on the side of her tongue. Have been treating with Anbesol and the one on her lip is clearing up.

However when she was getting ready for bed tonight I noticed her hands covered in little water blisters - she says they don't hurt and they aren't itchy.

Shes been off colour today - no temp but just generally lethargic.

Been googling and I think its hand foot and mouth. Does anyone know how long I need to keep her away from other people for? Supposed to be going to the Science Museum in London tomorrow but I'm guessing thats off now.

Do I also need to phone the mums of the children shes been in contact with for the last few days. Also one of the mums is pg - big concern if exposed?
Tia

I can't offer too much advice, but both my ds's had this, it sounds worse than it is, it's painful for them but only lasts a few days. I think it's just a very normal childhood illness.

I can't remember the incubation period though sorry.

DD1 got it when I was pregnant with dd2. No risk when pregnant, but you do need to watch out for Slapped Cheek, which is either closely related or can develop (not sure which) as that is very dangerous for pregnant women.
