My 6mo has stomach flu and cannot drink formula atm, how to supplement this?

Over the past few days my 6mo DS has had high fever, diarrhoea, and vomiting (mostly 2 days ago), and the GP said it was a stomach bug that will go away, though I need to keep him hydrated.

I realised yesterday that every time he had a little bit of his formula, his diarrhoea came back, so I want to give him a break from this until tomorrow (?). Unfortunately, he HATES the electrolyte drink which was prescribed, so now I'm giving him heavily diluted chamomile and fennel teas as well as plain boiled water. I'm also feeding him baby rice, bananas, wheatabix, yoghurt, and applesauce in small quantities and he hasn't vomited for a while, though this is not satisfying his hunger.

Until I can give him his formula again, any other suggestions to keep the nutrients up, and the hunger & vomiting down?

SO sad to see him this way! :(

Thanks!

I don't understand why the forumula is making him ill but the other food isn't.
What are you mixing the rice and weetabix with if not formula? I think it was probably just coincidence that he got the squits at the same time, unless your formula is contaminated in some way.
IIWY, I would introduce a very small amount and see how he gets on.

Thanks, rips! Yesterday I mixed the rice and weetabix w/ a tablespoon of his formula and bananas or apple sauce. Today I mixed the rice with water and bananas, then the weetbix with yoghurt (and bananas again!)

I think I will re-introduce a little formula after our walk today, that is, if he ever wakes up from this mamouth nap! :)
