Does anyone else's toddler sweat at night?

DS always seems to sweat buckets when he goes to bed. He is in short pyjamas, room is quite cool, but he does have a duvet and a pillow.

A few weeks ago he was so wet I had to completely change his pyjamas while he was asleep.

Is this normal or is it cause for concern?

My younger two have sweated loads as toddlers. They've grown out of it fairly early on though.

It's nearly always normal - my four year old has always been like this. On a winter night, he's probably a bit better than he used to be, but otherwise he's drenched in sweat every night. Occasionally it's a symptom of sleep apnoea, but if there's no other symptoms then I wouldn't worry.

Mine sweats like a beast.

He also pulls the covers right up over his head

when it's very hot I put a blanket inside his duvet cover instead of the quilt.

my ds is the same. He often sleeps naked or just with pants on and has a 4.5tog duvet on him just now.

yep my DS age 2 also sweats at night and during his daytime naps, we just put a light cellular blanket over him at night. he still sweats tho bless him

DS2 has always sweated a lot at night - particularly in the early stages of his sleep. When I go and check on him before I go to bed at 10ish, his hair is soaking but by the morning it is completely dry and pj's are dry.

Doesn't seem to bother him to be honest and he always wants his duvet on...DS1 has never been like this so I guess it is just different for each child [sile]

Dd like ceebee ds- sweats and will kick duvet off when hot. Then dh same about getting hot so not hard to see where it comes from...
Tbh I have had to adjust to fact that generally dd warmer than I am and will dress/act accordingly .

My Ds, now 4.6 too.

It's all boys isn't it? Certainly DD never sweats.

DS is under just an empty duvet cover at the moment, really hot here. I usually throw a blanket over the top of the duvet cover when I go to bed.

could also be due to mattress type or mattress cover (eg plastic cover would perhaps make it worse), I have experienced it on myself with a pillow-top mattress (grrr) that I got rid of eventually as it was unbearable
