Ds has an awful ear infection and doctor has given antibiotics,we got back home and I noticed pus was leaking out,hes had this before but this time it has blood in it,should I take him back?
Does pus with ear infection always mean its perforated?

I wouldn't take him back. It happens to one of my babies frquently, at least once a month. They will tell you it is too mucky to see if it is perforated or not, and now that it has, it will be feeling much better.

With ds they usually want to do a swab to check the infection. I would take him back, or at least phone up and ask for a doctor to call you back. Ime it's usually been perforated when it's leaking like that but I've never had blood with it.
They may also want to check in a week or so to see if it's healed up.

Dr did say to go back after course of antibiotics has finished if I don't think hes getting better, hes alot better but still saying it hurts and I think he has some hearing loss.think if he still has pain tomorrow ill ring nhs direct n ask about blood.usually he recovers rapidly after first dose of antibiotics
