6 mo sitting on floor falls back and bumps head - worry?

6 month old DS was sitting on floor and toppled back - I was right by him but didn't quite catch him in time - weird slow-motion - awful.

He didn't hit his head very fast but there was a bit of impact and he cried, although not for long. The floor is quite hard even with a rug on top of the carpet.

He has a reddish mark on the back of his head near the bottom of his head where he bumped it. I think that part of their head is quite delicate isn't it?

He did have a bit of vomiting but had no more than usual maybe because he had been quite active since his feed (about 1.5 hours before he hit his head), lots of sitting and reaching forward etc.

He has been awake an hour since, full of energy and kicking and also sitting up (in his inflatable ring though) and is now lying on the floor happily playing so maybe I shouldn't worry - but I feel awful.

What would happen if I took him to ER?

I wouldn't take him to ER, but maybe call your doctor if you're particularly worried?

personally I probably wouldn't do anything unless he seemed very out of sorts, I took my 2yr old (then) to A&E when he bashed his head and passed out twice.
they took an hour to see to him and then just said he was fine Hmm

babies are quite bouncy (luckily)
