do I have to wash my daughters entire soft toy collection? She sleeps with them and this morning I noticed she and ds were crawling with bugs. They are now deloused & bedding on a hot wash .but what about the -bloody- bears?? Anyone know?

I used to go mad with bedclothes, toys, sofa covers when mine first started catching lice but our doctor told us they only live on human heads.

I use olive oil to suffocate them as the lice breath through their skin.

Yes I would wash them.

I don't think the eggs live on them (the eggs need to be stuck to a hair) but the adults could crawl on the cuddly toys and live long enough to pass back onto your dc.

Put the bears in a bin liner for a day or two, then give them back to her - the lice can't survive that long away from human skin.

No you don't, they only live for a very short time away from the human head.
