DD2 (5 month) got the BCG vaccination end of Jan. I know that some skin reaction to the BCG is normal. DD1 had it as well but can't quite remember what it looked like anymore....

anyway, the spot were DD2 got her vaccination is red and swollen to the size of a hazelnut. anybody else any idea if this is fine or does it sound a bit big? DD2 doesn't seem to be bothered by it and is otherwise fine.

TIA

Provided the redness surrounding the swelling is not large and increasing, this is quite normal. They do this on and off for ages. Looks gross but heals eventually but usually leaves a scar. Most vaccinated adults have one! It just shows the TB antibodies are being made.

Yes I think it's within the realms of normal. I remember getting mine done at school and we all compared our BCG lumps for ages afterwards. But if you're worried theres no harm in getting it checked out especially as he's still very young.
