ds really bad cough, temp now under control and woken up with red prickly rash on face.

DS is 7, has been quiet,lethargic all week and has a bad cough but seemed to be getting better. Now he has a red prickly rash over his face.

I called the out of hours doctor a couple of hours ago and am in the queue to be called back.

Any ideas?

Possibly slapped cheek syndrome? Bright red, like slapped cheeks really! look on NHS choices or google for some similar pics. this may help you. doesnt really need a doc to be honest.

sounds viral, have you done the glass test? Any rash is a bit of a worry.....

We did see the doctor who said the rash was just a virus. Glass test was fine. Not slapped cheek, they've had that before. Prescribed phenergan which completely knocked him out at night and at least means that he slept well.

Same symptoms today rash now on his knuckles. Quite odd.
