Ds coughing himself sick, what can I give him?

for the third time this week ds has just coughed himself sick, he coughs all night too, I've been giving him honey, lemon and glycerine then buttercup, am I missing something or doing something wrong, when he is sick it's mostly the mucus from his throat and the coughing all but stops for a while!

He is 6 btw, dd also has a similar cough but she doesn't do the sick bit!

I never took him, he got up yesterday morning bouncing about, eating everything in sight and hardly coughed all day! It must have just been a viral thing!

asthma attacks come and go.

He was up through the night again complaining of a sore mouth, he has 2 wobbly teeth at the front and that's where it's sore, a teething 6yo, really??
