Chicken pox or nappy rash in 16 month old?

Hi all

Chicken pox is doing the rounds where we live. I just opened DS's nappy and found his bum covered in red spots :(
It could be nappy rash I suppose (am hoping) as he'd done a poo and I hadn't realised (smell free - weird) so that could have irritated him.
But I've never seen this kind of nappy rash before - lots of seperate red bumps? Any thoughts much appreciated :)

sorry, sounds suspect to me, too!
You'll know it's cp when it spreads all over :).
Oh well, good to get it over with, eh?

sounds like CP to me!

Thanks for the replies - oh dear :(

Problem is I am going away for two days on Monday and would have to leave DH with DS covered in pox... and he always wants me when he's ill.

Does anyone have any idea how long it usually takes to spread? No spots anywhere else yet.

It normally comes up quite quickly.
with ds1 i noticed 2 in his nappy area in the morning and by evening he had about 15 spread all over him. by the next evening he was absolutely covered

Another option if it doesn't spread elsewhere is hand foot and mouth

You'll know for sure by tomorrow am, I dare say.
Look up thrush, if it hasn't spread by then!
