Any idea how long a referral to child psychology takes?

Has anyone got experience with their child seeing a psychologist?

my ds2 sees a clinical pschyologist for eating problems. We got an appointment roughly a month after referal. We now see her roughly once a fortnight. I'd imagine it depends on the hospital and problem being looked at though.

Think it will depend totally on where you are, 3 months here according to a friend. That was for one attached to a GP surgery though for bereavement counselling.

I think i'm being impatient but understandably i want my dd1 seen asap.

Does anyone know if the first appointment would be just the parents?

We were asked for both parents and ds2, but to make arrangements for ds1 to be elsewhere. Again, I think it probably depends on what the problems are, the age of the child etc etc

I am hoping that i will get an opportunity(alone) to explain the problems dd has.
