So ds2 erupted in spots today.
Ds1 doesn't have any.
Ds1 is due to go to nursery tomorrow, but I obviously need to take him. The issue is I'd have to take ds2 along too. Is it ok to take ds2 out of the house if I keep him in the pushchair? Or is it a massive no-no?
Unsure of risks. Obviously there are lots of children at nursery, but ds2 normally stays in pushchair outside the door, so ok or not?

I really wouldn't.

You can't tell by looking at other people whether they are in the high-risk groups for contact with the virus (preg, chemo etc) and you would never be able to forgive yourself if you later found out someone had been affected.

If DS1 has not had chicken pox before, he almost certainly already has the virus, is already very contagious (most catching before spots appear) and will erupt in spots shortly.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking.
Thanks

I would (and did) when ds hade chicken pox and I had to take dd to nursery. There is no guarantee that your DS1 will get it and as there is an incubation period of up to 3 weeks would you really quarantine yourself for that amount of time? I would take him in the pushchair (maybe even with a raincover on) and sit him outside while you sort out ds2.

Doesn't look like it matters now. Ds1 has a few small red spots on his belly, so will keep him at home today to keep an eye on them Sad
