Thrush after antibiotics in a baby?

DD recently had antibiotics and she has since developed what I thought was nappy rash. It wasn't clearing so I took her to the GP and he said she has thrush! Is this normal after antibiotics? She seems so young.

Oh babies can get thrush everywhere - on their bottoms (boys and girls), in their mouths, even in the folds of their skin under chins etc, if they are tubby.

And yes, very common after antibiotics. Don't worry.

it's v common in babies - also watch out for it appearing in the mouth as white spots and if you are breastfeeding, be aware that you can also get thrush on your nipples (ouch) if your baby does get thrush in their mouth. it's just a fungus that is pretty much everywhere and those with weak immune systems - so the young, the old, the sick - are more vulnerable
