Anyone use Salamol Easi-Breathe? DD's inhaler won't work properly.

It's the one that delivers a dose automatically. The problem is when we pull the cap down it squirts out a dose before she can put it it her mouth, rather than delivering the dose when she "sucks" on it.

Anyone had this please?

Yes my DD had this and GP refused to put her back on Ventolin Evohaler (which you suck), so she used my DP's evohaler which the salamol cartridges fitted. When we moved house we got a new GP and he was happy to change, he said a lot of asthma patients had this complaint about easi-breathe. It's bad - because the Salamol is often prescribed for children as it is supposedly easier to administer the dose but for us it was useless. They are also very bulky and so don't fit in jean pockets etc which can be an issue for teenagers - apparently they are cheaper than ventolin (hence our old GP's preference?)

If you take the top bit off( not the cap) you can press down on the cartridge like an old style inhaler.

Sorry that didn't read back all that clearly. If you unscrew the main body of the inhaler so the cartridge is visible it can be used like a normal inhaler I.e. Press down on the top of the cartridge to deliver a dose.

Ah, yes of course, didn't think of that.

Thanks Smile

So is it a fault then? It worked fine for a while.

Mine can be a bit temperamental, going off when you open the cap and just randomly too, and then sometimes not working till I have opened and closed the cap a few times. Don't know if it's a known fault though.
