Hi Smile

My 6m DS has got a sickness bug (DD and i had it at the weekend,DH and DS have it today) and last had a proper feed around 7am this morning. He had porridge for breakfast fine, and banana for lunch ok but has not been very interested in bfing (not too unusual as he gets distrated by his sister) He started being sick about 2pm, and is just bringing up yellow bile/drool now, has been sick about 5 times, dozing inbetween.

At what point does it become not just a sickness bug and i should get him seen? Should i give him water or juice to drink? DH can't keep anthing down, and i felt the same at the weekend.

Thanks Smile

Sounds like what DS had a few weeks ago. He didn't keep anything down for 24 hours, then started drinking a bit but still couldn't eat for about another 24 hours. It was horrid, but he was still peeing relatively clear and started drinking before I got really worried. However, then the diarrhoea started. That took 4 days.

There's some horrid stuff about. I would say get him seen if he stops peeing or it is very dark, if he stops being responsive or if you just feel he's really not doing ok.

Good luck. DS was fine after about 5 days.

Thank you Smile

I have just rung the surgery and waiting for a nurse to phone back. He is sleeping and looks so pale Sad

Glad to hear they will call you. I found the most distressing bit the helplessness. All I felt I could do was hug him and hold him while he felt so rough. Funnily enough he wasn't that distressed by the diarrhoea, only the sickness.

I was pretty distressed by the diarrhoea though!

Sad Will he suckle while sleepy?

Has he had water before?

Thought i had replied to this, sorry Blush

DS is ok today. After speaking to the nurse i felt a lot happier, she gave me a list of things to look out for and advised giving him a drink of weak squash. He drunk the squash and perked up within about half an hour and stopped being sick.
