Is this a touch of flu or virus of sorts?

My dd (5) was complaining of a headache this morning and she does have bad snuffles.

I took her too school, as she seemed ok once the calpol got to work.

The school phoned at 12 as her bad headache had come back. She felt red hot, although the thermometer said 36.8. More calpol, and in half hour she seemed ok. But then all of the sudden around 5 she threw up, and seemed instantly better. She later was saying she was hungry, so I gave her a plain biscuit and some very watered down squash.

Just before I put her to bed, she was saying her head and everything hurt and got very very weepy.

She is sleeping now (finally) but I am wondering if it is flu or just a horrible cold/stomach bug.

Sounds like a virus - facial flushing can cause the skin to be hot when the core temperature is normal.

The flu tends to present as extreme tiredness, aching, vomiting and high fever.
