4mo DS coughs a lot. Should I see the GP?

DS coughs often. It's mainly a dry little cough. It doesn't seem to bother him most of the time, but sometimes he coughs like he is choking.

Is it normal for babies to cough a bit? Or should I take him to the GP?

I feel so neurotic since I've had him, I don't want to waste the GP's time if it's nothing.

prob nothing, maybe refluxy cough as acid is brought up.

On the other hand, I don't get the concept of wasting a GP's time, especially for a small baby. His/her job is to check out a parent's concerns whether or not they are justified. You pay for this with your taxes and he is picking up as much as £250,000 for doing so. And, if a baby really is ill, it takes so long to get an appointment you end up at A&E anyway!

Thanks larry, I'm going to keep an eye on it over the weekend and go on Monday if he's no better.

Hmmm, heed Larry. I say this as a mother of a 9 month old who has been coughing for 5 months, wheezing for 2 and is waiting for an appointment!
