chicken pox spots on hands that will not burst and heal. Is it still infectious? help!

DS went down with chicken pox 10 days ago. The spots stopped coming up on Tuesday and even the nasty ones have scabbed over and are well on their way to healing. The NHS website says chicken pox is most infectious for the first 5 days although nursery won't have children back until all the spots have scabbed over.

But he has 3 spots on his hands that won't burst, presumably because the skin is much thicker there. They don't look red, just like little normal blisters. He's fine in himself, been charging around outside and stopped calpol a few days ago.

The reason I ask is because we are meant to be going out on a family meal tomorrow and a restaurant with loads of people is going to be the worst place to take him if he's still infectious isn't it Sad.

My daughter has the same issue with ONE blister on her finger. All others have healed and the scabs are gone. She got the first spots 11 days ago. Have you had any answers from other sources?
