Mysterious red patches on face and neck of both children?

My DS woke up this morning with two big red patches on his forehead. It looked like he'd been wacked by a cricket bat a couple of times.
They've sort of faded through the morning.
I noticed when putting DD down for her nap that she had two patches on her neck.

DS now has another on his cheek.
They don't have a raised temp and both are happy and not itching.
Any ideas anyone?

have you changed washing powder recently? It could be an allergy to something that is toching their skin (heads on pillow whilst sleeping, neck from jumper etc)

slapped cheek?

they havent been out a lot in cold winds and have slightly wind chapped areas?

I'd say keep an eye on it and hope it goes away!
