DS (age 8) has body odour and hairy testicles - surely not puberty yet??

I've noticed the BO for a few months now - it's really 'masculine' smelling - not like a little boy at all!

Tonight at bathtime he was showing me that he has hairy testicles - and he has! Just fine, fair, downy hair. He is also quite 'developed' down there, and seems to get quite frequent erections.

DS1 (11) is nowhere near as developed-looking Shock

Anything to worry about, or just normal, do you think?

He's tall for his age, but not otherwise mature in any way - quite immature socially really, in fact....

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I've no idea really, but I have a vague memory of reading that you should consult a GP about early puberty.

I think that a bit on the early side for boys - see article here, specially if it's not normal in your family. Puberty is getting earlier in general, but I think I'd have a word with your GP just in case.

My Son was 9 when he entered puberty. He had armpit hair (wouldn't know about his bollies) and used to wear a t shirt to swim in. Daughter started periods in year 6. I'd say it isn't the norm, but not abnormal either.
