My 11 month old DS was born with a red/purple blotchy mark on the back of his neck which never gave him any hassle until the last week or so. I was told it was just a stork bite and would go away on its own or will stay and be no trouble. In the past week it has become raised, red and angry and he keeps reaching behind his neck and scratching it. He has also become unusually irritable in the past 24 hours and I'm beginning to worry. As a precaution I've checked for all meningitis symptoms and he only seems to have the rash. I tried the glass test but it's difficult to tell as you can still see it as he's scratched it so badly and damaged the skin.
Has anyone else had this problem? I'm taking him to the doctor tomorrow.
