Ok I expect undigested food in the nappy but...

completely undigested? As I feed him mixed veg, mixed veg of exactly the same size comes out. Orange paste in, orange paste out, Green in, green out etc. Todays looked like salad. If it wasn't for the smell it could go back on a plate no problem! I'm quite surprised he's even swollowed bits of that size.I don't remember this with dsd, her poo looked like poo. I remeber seeing veg in it, but it was poo with veg bits, not just veg iyswim. Am I just out of practice? He's nearly 8 months.

strawberrycake · 28/12/2010 16:53

I see. Have you mentioned it to your HV?

strawberrycake · 28/12/2010 17:00

NO, not yet. It's only become very obvious now he eats a wider variety of chunky foods. Wanted to check on here first how daft a question it is...

With my two, we got the odd chunk of veg in the nappy, things like sweetcorn. Most of it wa digested though and once we had swapped form bfing to bfing and food the change in the poo was very obvious.

I remember the transition from baby poo to, well, shit. I guess I'll bring up next time. It seems amazingly undigested. I don't want to be a fussy mum but I wonder if coupled with his very poor weight gain it's something to mention.

Anyone else had this?

MiasMARY · 29/12/2010 12:02

The only things that look the same coming out as they do going in are peas, sweetcorn and nuts and seeds.

It's always looked like poo.. Mores the pity!

I have visions of giving a stool sample for him and getting a request back to provide poo, not his dinner!
