Sad, I had to take her bed gaurd off this morning to clean it (after she was sick on it), i thought she would be fine without it as she is so poorly she has hardly moved from the spot for 2 days. Anyway, im sat downstairs and i hear a big bang, dd2 managed to fall out of bed and must have hit herself against the chest of drawers Sad, it looks like her duvet cushioned her fall. She's so poorly from this Viris that she didn't even cry and couldn't ger herself up. I put her back in bed and she went straight to sleep. Do you think she will be ok sleeping?, i'm not sure if she hit her head, i checked her over and couldn't see any marks, i can't keep her awake because she's so poorly and sleepy.

She sounds really poorly
has she seen a gp since her illness started?

Casmama · 11/12/2010 21:15

Aw the poor wee soul. I'm sure she probably didn't cry because she didn't really hurt herself, you are probably right that the duvet cushioned her fall. Hope she feels better soon.

StarExpat · 11/12/2010 21:19

I would call the out of hours doctor just to be sure. I hope she's feeling better soon.

Marne · 11/12/2010 21:19

merrycompo- we took her to the out of hours doc last night, he said its probably a viris or maybe a UTI, the poor little thing is not really improving over than keeping sips of fluid down, we have been giving her diorolyte(sp) but she's still so sleepy. She has Autism and doesn't really understand pain (unless its really painfull) so never makes a fuss.

She has medication to help her sleep which she has had tonight so that would be making her less responsive to. I have just checked on her and she's fast asleep.

I dont really want to call the out of hours doc as they will want me to take her to a clinic/hospital and i'm on my own with the dd's, both are asleep and dh wont be home till late (gone to x-mas party).

I'm sorry but i don't think anyone on here can advise you as to whether or not you need an out of hours doc or not. You need to decide how likely it is that she hit her head and if so would she be likely to react to the pain. If the probability is low that she hit her head then just keep an eye on her. If you are not sure and you think she may have hit it hard but not reacted then you maybe need to phone out of hours.

Thanks Casmama, i will keep a very close eye on her (i'm upstairs with her now) and if she shows any signs of injury i will call the doc straight away. I will try and check her over agian in a bit but i don't really want to upset her.

Agree we can't advise but I'd ring ooh doc or nhs direct. Please do. Even though It's not very nice having to go out tonight, I'd err on the side of caution. How old is she?

Marne · 12/12/2010 09:02

Thank you all for your advice, she's feeling a bit better this morning, she walked out of her room this morning (first time she has sat or stood for 3 days) and is now back in bed nibbling some toast and asing for drink. No signs of any bumps from last nights fall, i kept an eye on her through out the night and she slept well. Hopefully she's on the mend and manages to keep her toast down.

glad she is better, my DD had a similar bug recently, it was worrying. She bounced back quckly though!

Marne · 12/12/2010 09:22

Thanks Fanjo, i always panic when dd2 is ill because i worry that she is in pain and unable to tell me. Just hoping dd1 doesn't come down with it now as she is so excited about being in the christmas play on tuesday, she already had to miss out on a party because dd2 was to poorly so i couldnt take her Sad and missed out on her own birthday party at the beggining of the year because she had a sickness bug Sad.

me too, although, DD tells us with lots of screaming, then we don't know where she is hurting!

Hope DD1 escapes it!
