Catarrh - recurrent colds and coughs in 13 month DS

Hi

Took DS to the GP today as he's had cold after cough after cold for about six weeks now.

No chest infection but she said his ears looked a bit "dull" and he had build up of catarrh.

I've suspected that he might have allergies - I have hayfever, am sensitive to dust mites and he's dairy intolerant.

She prescribed ABs for his cough but that's it. As I wasn't at the appointment, I didn't have a chance to interrogate ask more questions so wondered if any MNers had any experience of this and whether I need to do something about the catarrh?

Thanks skeleton. Yes, his colds last for a week and seem really bad. He gets so gunked up. I'll ask the GP about his tonsils and get them to check his ears regularly. I'm in that place so often, I can almost see the receptionists go when I ring in
