Stomach Pain AFTER a bowel movement? AKA the next stage in DS2s poo saga's.

Will try and keep this brief - DS2 is 5 and has always had issues with his bowel. We have been back and to to the GP and go no where. Well nowhere except being told that it's constipation and being given lactulose.

We have also been back and to to a different consultant because of possible ASD and he has ruled out the possibility of it being behavioural. He has referred DS2 to a paediatrician and thinks that maybe part of DS2's bowel is too small and causing him pain which is why he withholds - because it hurts!

His poo's are ENORMOUS. Either really thick or really long or both! He soils himself often but is never fully "empty" but it is NOT encopresis. Its not 'seepage'.

ANyway back to my point - sorry.

DH was with him for the traumatic bowel movement after tea and DS2 was screaming in pain. I thought it was when he was 'going' but DH came down and said he was doubled over in pain after he had been. He was ok after a while but still had stomach ache an hour or so later when he went to bed.
What on earth could have caused that?!

I know it doesn't make much sense but anyone got a clue?

I think you need to see the gp to get a referral for your ds2 to have a scan of his lower intestine, it just doesn't sound right. Sounds like his colon was spasming in pain. I hope he is feeling better today.

We have been referred to Paeds and its just a case of wait for the letter. He is his "normal" self today.

Good luck, I hope it doesn't take too long for the referral.
