apologies for this one - tip of boy penis

to rule out an infection i have gone to docs...for his regression with weeing

doc said urine clear with dip stick but will send for analysis..however on physcial examination he said tip of penis looked odd

my little one has always!!! had by slit/opening when you pull foreskin back two little bumps/blisters...but always been like that...

does slit always have to be smooth?

please any insight would be appreciated as can't go and see other toddlers penisis....

sorry can't help, neither of DS's foreskin come back yet.

It is worrying though isn't it when it is such a seemingly important part of their anatomy!

no idea, i have nevber pulled any of my boys' foreskins back

did he say what it might be?

I always defer to DH when concerned about DS's penis :) Men are so fascinated by penises (penii?) that they can pretty quickly tell you whether it seems ok or not!

It is worrying isn't it - one of those bits of the body that you really just want to be normal. Hope it is just one of those normal variations rather than anything worrying.

were just looking at whether urine infection there - physical abonormality he said was something only women get....but will discuss later...but he does not look abnormal to me

the doctor said physical abnormality was someone only females get?

My son has hyperspadias, which is a physical abnormality of his penis - a birth defect essentially. (not the same as your son BTW).

Odd thing for your doctor to say. Get a second opinion is my advice.

yeah what he said - as a sideline to investigating whether infection present or not....so now this sideline has got me worried....little blisters where opening is - that is all not red not sore...

Don't be worried, it's not been a problem for him for this long, and if it is something which needs to be addressed, it is far, far better to do it now than when he is older.

did the Doctor suggest a course of action? or did he say to leave it?

if you;'re worried then go and see another GP and explain the problem and ask if you need to be referred to a paediatrician or someone to look into it further

by the way how far does the foreskin on your three year old pull back

with my lo quite a lot and seems fine with it

or should it still be attached?

I was told to leave foreskin in children well alone. When he's old enough he'll do it himself.

Ds1 4.5 to my knowledge hasn't done this yet. So we wouldn't know what is there - less to worry about too.

I would ask to speak to another doctor if i were you. Saying boys do not get physical abnormality is wrong.

i have never tried to pull back the foreskin on any of my boys. they are 5.5, 3 and 18 months

was told to leave it alone and not to pull it back in fact

My mums' generation where told to pull their DSs foreskin back in the bath, but not viewed as necessary these days.My DS2 had terrible troubles weeing when he was younger, his foreskin would almost 'bubble up' before the wee came out, and his little morning erections used to hurt him(apparently signs of a foreskin being too tight)but it sorted itself out now (DS is 12).

I also have a friend whose DS (aged 4)had this problem,and the consultant said he'd have to be circumcised.She was so against the idea,she saved up,and paid to go privately,for 2nd opinion,-that doc. gave them some cream to apply,(not sure what it was) and it somehow sorted it!
