Nasty dribble rash, oilatum making it worse

My 4.5 month old DD has had a dribble rash for a while. It's got steadily worse over the last week and now it's a big red patch across her chest, over her neck and under her chin. It's hot to the touch and an angry red. I've taken her to the GP and he prescribed Oilatum (I'd previously tried Sudocrem and Vaseline) and it's made it worse...

I've tried bibs to keep it dry (and I am managing to keep it dry). Am also trying to air it as much as possible. None of this is helping. It's not bothering her but it's bothering me, it looks dreadful. I shall take her back on Monday if it's no better but in the meantime does anyone have any suggestions?

I went to gp today about my sons cradle cap today and mentioned to her about my sons rash across his chest, neck and under chin, she prescribed hydrocortisone for his cradle cap and said I could also use that on his neck etc. as well, may be worth asking

my DS had quite bad dribble rash, what you are doing is good, e.g. keeping dry and airing it. i tried sudocrem and metanium which worked a treat! can't understand the point of oilatum though! go back on monday could need a steriod cream if its bad.
