Tiny flecks of blood in baby sick

I have a 9wo DD with reflux. We all have colds at the moment. DD just had mouthful of sick with tiny blood flecks in it. Any ideas as to why? She is a bit snuffly and grumpy but not enough to cause concern. Dont know whether to contact GP.Any suggestions?

from the force of posseting possibly tiny blood vessels bursting in her tummy - nothing to cause concern really, but if still worried pls contact GP or NHS Direct.

Are you DFing? Could be your nips are bleeding?

BFing obviously - not DFing. Duh!

meant to add, that it happens to all of us when being sick for a prolonged period, but often you can only see the blood flecks if being sick on an empty stomach otherwise they're hidden amongst the rest of the stuff that comes out (sorry TMI).

I had this with DD1 and as Marge suggested, it turned out to be a small crack on my nipple which I didn't even realise was bleeding.

Thank you all for your response. She has been sick again since with no blood. Think it must have been tiny vessels bursting. I am BF but nippples are fine. I suppose its a bit like when I blow my nose too hard, I get the same thing, TMI probably. Thanks Smile

Hi,

Had the same thing with my little girl. Panicked and went to a and e but it was just breastfeeding. Please dont worry. Sounds like all is fine.
