Hey folks. My 3 yr old son has developed a raging red raised pimply very itchy rash over his torso and a little on his thighs. He had a much milder version bout same time last yr which we put down to cold weather. It is soooo much worse this yr& he is so distressed with the itching-took him to Gp who thought was eczema type rash& now on emolluent cream& I bought him antihistamines for the itch. It's not really getting much better.... Just wanted some reassurance that other peoples kids get rashes in cold weather as not something iv heard of before!

This time of year both mine come out with it and I notice my own skin getting worse.

For us it usually co-incides with the heating going on which (or so DH tells me) results in the skin drying out and making eczema worse.

my dd2 has this too,and has also coincided with the heating going on. try oilatum shower oil too and extra emollient after, try not to let skin dry out by dabbing more emollient in dry areas at nappy changes/after face washing etc
the antihistamine is a good idea to break the scratch/itch cycle and give skin time to heal
