Advice needed on ds (8) swimming with 2 perforated drums

History of chronic ear problems has left him with 2 perforations. Lack of swimming means he is very unconfident, he now goes to swimming lessons with school.

He has ear plugs and an ear bandit but water is still going in his middle ear.

Don't want to stop him swimming, but am considering telling them he should not go under water.

The ear plugs seem to not work, we have tried moulded ones and ear putty.

Any one experienced anything similar?

Sorry no, DD had grommets before christmas last year and the bloody things are still in place. This means she has to wear the plugs and band thing and has the pissed ripped out of her. She adores swimming and I feel really sad for her. Have you asked for a referral to an ENT person for advice?

Trefusis - we have not tried bioears, will check these out thanks.

Kreecher- We are refferred to an ENT specialist which is how I know he has 2 perforations! He will need surgery but at 8 he is to young so we have to wait a while.
