Pavlik Harness and Airplane Travel

Hello,

My 8 week old has to have a Pavlik Harness fitted next week. We are meant to be moving home from Australia to the UK in the next 3 months, and wondered if anyone has any experience of flying with a baby in a harness. Obviously I will speak to the surgeon next week about this and will change plans if necessary,

Thanks

Chloe

Hi Chloe, my DD had a pavlik harness. We didn't fly while it was on but it shouldn't be too much of a problem. Your DD will still be able to sit upright on your lap and I would think she would still fit ok into one of those airline cot things. She might be a bit wider space-wise as her legs will be held bent up to her chest but facing outwards (like a little frog) but it ought to still be ok. There was another poster who asked this question a while ago. Maybe if we keep bumping we might catch her eye and find out how she got on.

Good luck with the harness. It really isn't a huge problem, even if it might seem a bit daunting just now. Any other questions just ask. There's a little community of us pavlik veterans on here Smile
