I posted on here about this a while ago as my dd had a few pubic hairs at age 6. Saw all the pp stuff on web, panicked and was advised to go the doctor. GP knew nothing about the condition (plus dd wouldn't let him take a look anyhow!)so we were referred to paediatrics at local hospital.
Consultant took a look and decided the hair (fine strands) was normal as she was nearly 7 by then. She is also on 99th centile for height and 97th for weight, so that may have a bearing. They took blood tests to gauge hormone levels and the results came back normal. I think she'll be monitored in about 6 months time. It put my mind at rest, so although your ds is probably fine too, you may want to visit your GP (without alarming ds!).
