What is the rash around out 17-month old son

My 17-month old son has a rash around his mouth, largley on his chin. He's not particularly dribbly having a good proportion of his teeth. i wondered about baby acne but this seems to be related more to new borns. he saw the Dr recently about something else and she didn't really comment about it. It looks quite sore sometimes and appears worse afer his face has been washed or is wet.
Any suggestions?

impetigo maybe?

my son just had impetigo on his chin (mainly). looked like little spots, worse when wet or crying (face red). it took about two months to go, even with two antibacterial creams, and also went into his eyes at one point (conjunctivitis - which I later got too). if you suspect it, cut his nails and wash his hands and your own a lot.
