DD2 is 22 months. She had a headcold at the weekend but my midweek it seemed almost gone. Yesterday and today though she is a bit hot 99-100c but the only symptom she has is that she is very upset, teary and clingy and wants to breastfeed all day.

I can't decide what to do. On one hand she hasn't any major symptoms but also she is really off form.

Could it be an earache or UTI or would she be getting worse by now?

Why not ring NHS Direct? I've had really good experiences with them I always do this when Im unsure what to do with my DD when she has a non descript temperature etc.
Then if they say go to GP, you say to receptionist it was recommended by NHS direct and they take you more seriously if you need an appt straight away.

Hope she is better soon. :)

I really miss BFing my dd (stopped at 14mths) at times like this- so nice you can offer her that comfort. Grin

Hi - similar here, my girl (21 months) was ill last weekend with a cold, and her temperature (not massive - about 37.5) is persistent. She's also very snotty. Took her to the GP this afternoon (I phoned them and they said to come in what with the weekend and what have you) and he's prescribed antibiotics - he could hear 'crackling' in her chest.

Second GiraffeYoga - NHS Direct has always been great.

If you're worried, see if you can take her to an out of hours GP. We're in North London and you can ring CAMIDOC and get an appointment at the hospital for the out of hours GP.

Hope she perks up

Thanks for the replies.

She had a nap and when she woke up DH was home and she seems so much better now. She didn't see him much this week as he has been working long hours and I think it upset her.

I think it it a combination of the end of the cold she had and just missing her daddy!

I'll going to keep an eye on her but my instinct is that she is ok.
