HI
My 2yr old son has had a on of raging temperature reaching 40.3 for 3 days. We are on the forth day now he has had no temperature so far today but he is now stop crying. He is normally a very happy chap never ill and never like this. This crying is new even when he had a sky high temp he was sleepy but never cryed just clingy. He has been crying since 7 this morning. I went to the doctors yesterday who said it is a viral infection and just to keep him dosed up on nurofen. There is nothing I can do to comfort him. One minute he wants to be on my knee the next hewon'tt let me touch him. He has had nurofen but at my witts end.

You need to take him back to the GP. Children's condition can change really quickly.

yes you need to see Dr again.

DastardlyandSmugly · 27/07/2010 14:24

Heather I agree definitely back to the GP.

heathermumof3 · 27/07/2010 14:26

How is he now?

Jacksmybaby · 27/07/2010 15:42

Are you alternating the nurofen with calpol?

waitingforbedtime · 27/07/2010 15:43

Id tell the doc you need seen.

waitingforbedtime · 27/07/2010 15:43

PS did they test his urine? if not make sure they do.

coventgarden · 27/07/2010 15:45

He needs to be seen and tbh if no doctor will see him I would be going to A&E.

I too would consider A&E if your GP won't see him but can't believe they wouldn't fit him in.

Jacksmybaby · 27/07/2010 16:36

Call out of hours service this eve as soon as it opens? I went to the emergency clinic with DS last night (for suspected urine infection), they were pretty good, and no waiting around like with A&E (although maybe we were just lucky!).

heathermumof3 · 27/07/2010 20:19

HI
Spoke to my GP and he said to bring him down. When I got there DS decided he was fine smiling and running aroun (they make you out to a lier) any how it tirms out he has a ear infection now and he got antibitoics. Doctor said it was not there yesterday. He fine now playing as normal.
