Lack of poo in recently weaned baby

DS (7 months) was EBF to 28 weeks, and began BLW almost three weeks ago. Lots of people seem to report that their babies poo more when they start solids, but DS has gone right down from up to 8 a day (outside figure - usually two biggies and a few additional splots) to nothing since Thursday evening. That's nearly 5 days now, so I am concerned, but I keep reading that infrequent pooing is 'normal' for EBF babies (however it's not normal for him). When he was very small I recall one day without a poo, but never anything like this.

He is a bit grumpy at times at the moment, but still generally happy, laughing, feeding copiously, sleeping poorly, inquisitive: normal stuff.

At what stage should I take him to the doctor? We too him a few weeks ago, about him pooing so much (and with quite a bit of mucus), and the GP was quite dismissive of it.

Personally I think 5 days is a long time - he could be constipated? This is also common during weaning. What worked for my two is pureed courgettes, but you might want to seek medical advice first?

Finally, he did one! About an hour ago. Such a relief... Thanks for the tip; I'll remember pureed courgette if there's a recurrence.
